Performance: Beckett & Beyond

James Cook University School of Creative Arts students, in association with Tropic Sun Theatre present Beckett and Beyond at the Court Theatre.

Beckett and Beyond offers an entertaining and informative introduction to a number of playwrights and theatre practitioners whose theatrical praxis is essentially Imagist. Using a combination of live performance, video projection, lighting and sound, the five actors lead the audience on a journey through the theatrical landscape of the Imagists.
Including excerpts from the works of Samuel Beckett, Sarah Kane, Suzan – Lori Parks, and offering insights into the methodologies of many contemporary performers and directors, including Jan Fabre, Robert Wilson, Robert Le Page, Romeo Castelluci, Pina Bausch, Sankai Juku, DV8, Richard Foreman and others, Beckett and Beyond contains material that will shock and challenge its audience – and make them laugh at the same time!
